Access control
Prepare access control that remains clear under pressure.
A strong entrance operation depends on more than scanner speed. It requires understood rules, anticipated exceptions and visible capacity.
01
Design the journey before placing devices
Map the actual path from arrival to the accessible zone. Separate queues that follow different rules: standard tickets, invitations, accreditation, temporary exits or assistance.
Every branch needs an owner and an instruction. Otherwise, scanning staff become the resolution point for every issue, slowing the entire operation.
02
Write validation rules
Define what makes a ticket valid, re-entry conditions and the response when a ticket is already used or unreadable.
- Ticket types allowed by entrance
- Plus-one handling
- Offline procedure
- Exception traceability
03
Connect scans and capacity
Scan counts matter only when interpreted with zone capacity, exits and internal flows. Assign a person to monitor these signals and define the thresholds that trigger action.
Leaders need a concise update: current state, direction and required decision. A stream of numbers without shared thresholds rarely produces a coherent response.
04
Test difficult scenarios
Before doors open, simulate network loss, a simultaneous surge, a changed guest list and unavailable hardware. The test should validate journey continuity, not only technical configuration.
After the event, compare peak periods, exceptions and resolution times. This data improves the next preparation cycle.
